Meet Our Team

West London’s award-winning French restaurant, Le Vacherin, has shaken things up from September 2018 with some exciting changes to its management team and menu. Marc Wainwright has been appointed executive Chef, a decision that came easily given Wainwright’s passion for French cuisine combined with a penchant for Asian, Japanese, Italian, and Nordic ingredients, which ensure Le Vacherin menus continue to evolve and excite. Born and bred in the leafy district of Chiswick, Wainwright has been part of the team at Le Vacherin for more than 10 years, helping the restaurant win its second AA rosette. From 2010 Le Vacherin has been managed by Gm Marco Cristaldi.

Au Revoir, Le Vacherin

After 24 wonderful years, the time has come for us to say goodbye.

With mixed emotions and immense gratitude, we announce that Le Vacherin will be closing its doors for the final time.

What began in 2002 as a dream to bring authentic French hospitality and cuisine to Chiswick grew into something far greater than a restaurant. Le Vacherin became a place of celebration, friendship, romance, family gatherings, business lunches, anniversaries, birthdays, proposals, and countless cherished memories.

Over the past two decades, we have had the privilege of welcoming generations of guests through our doors. Some joined us for a special occasion, others became regulars whose faces became as familiar as those of our own team. Together, you created the warm and vibrant atmosphere that made Le Vacherin so special.

We are deeply grateful to our owner, Donna Thompson-Smith, whose passion, dedication and unwavering belief in the restaurant helped shape its identity and guide it through many chapters. We thank our chefs, past and present, whose talent and commitment brought French cuisine to life on every plate, and every member of our front-of-house and kitchen teams who worked tirelessly to create memorable experiences for our guests.

Most importantly, we thank you — our customers.

Thank you for trusting us with your celebrations.

Thank you for your loyalty.

Thank you for your support during both prosperous times and challenging ones.

Thank you for every lunch, every dinner, every glass raised in celebration, and every kind word shared with our team.

Over the years, guests described Le Vacherin as a "neighbourhood favourite," a place with a "local feel," "wonderful atmosphere," "excellent service," and food that brought a taste of Paris to West London. Those words meant more to us than any award or accolade ever could.

Restaurants are often measured by the dishes they serve, but their true legacy lies in the people they bring together. The friendships formed, the stories shared across the table, and the memories created within their walls.

As we close this chapter, we do so with pride for what Le Vacherin has been and with gratitude for everyone who helped make it possible.

While the lights may dim and the dining room may fall silent, the memories of Le Vacherin will remain with us forever.

From all of us at Le Vacherin, thank you for being part of our story.

It has been our honour and privilege to serve you.

Au revoir, Chiswick.

With heartfelt thanks,

The Le Vacherin Family
